May iniisip ka?
Oo.
Ano?
Ayaw kong sabihin. Baka magkatotoo.
Dahil makulit ka
Kilala kita. Naaalala kita.

Meat Shop Renga #1 (12 June 2005)
I knew this. I'm trying to find out why I did. The light tampers the wires, coaxes them into presence. I see them. I like their disarray.Like wet hinges, open the door and they'll scream. Oh, remembering. Oh, forgetting and trying to remember. Oh, this yearning for rain.
There was a time when I did not know how to die.
Now I cannot forget: the secret of rain, like a kiss.
It's the unpredictability of weather, its wavering, that is essential
to trace this coming, going, your voice like a wave, like a ripple
in my ear. I am learning to cross this wire of words, cradled by clouds
of relief, of white spaces. If only we could hold each other like that.

Meat Shop Renga #2 (12 June 2005)
Hello, hi. I am writing to you because last night I looked outside my window and remembered your hair. The cadence of black, the silent curls. Some cloud. Hello, hi. My hands grow new hands. I'm tracing lines, multiple lines. Stroking hair between thumb and forefinger, the strands finding their way to my lips like words others whispered into tree trunks, crawling home. Hello. Hi. Where you are-- is there a window? Do you see me? Through this window catching a whiff of your unwashed hair. There is a strand, there is a hand, I cannot hold.

nakaka-pressure magsulat ng renga, at madalas kalat ang kinalalabasan, but i have to admit i like the second one. =)
